Meet Marissa Mercado
Senior Operation Analyst at Vālenz® Health
An accomplished claims operations professional, Marissa joined Valenz Health in 2017. During the past seven years, Marissa has dedicated herself to living the Valenz brand promise – to engage early and often for smarter, better, faster healthcare. Marissa is known across the organization as an approachable, reliable colleague who’s always willing to help her teammates.
What's one word you’d use to describe the Valenz culture?
Collaborative. At Valenz, we work together. We have a lot of moving parts and partnerships that have evolved as our business has grown. We each have our own areas of expertise, and we work together to leverage these individual strengths to drive solutions forward – that’s what makes this company so great.
When someone asks you about working at Valenz, what do you say?
I always brag – I tell people I have the absolute best job ever. I’ve loved working here for the past seven years, the longest time I’ve been with any company. I haven’t felt the need to explore other opportunities because I always feel heard and supported by great managers along the way. It’s been truly a great experience, as I’ve learned so much from starting out as a small operation through our tremendous growth. Even with this growth, it still has a small company feel with camaraderie.
How is Valenz a good fit for your passions, skills, and talents?
My biggest passion is life is helping people, and our company culture is based on teamwork. It’s all about helping one another and leaning on each other for support – including both teammates and clients. Despite working from home, I still feel connected to my coworkers and clients because we have such a good rapport with this mindset.
